About this build
The homeowners wanted the back of the house to feel like part of the yard instead of a step down into the dirt. We rebuilt the deck platform, poured new concrete landing pads, and framed a wide set of stairs that reads as an extension of the deck rather than an afterthought. Black powder-coated posts with stainless cable keep the sight lines open to the garden.
